RL..stuff happened. Some drama, some just stuff. I've done a lot of rearranging of my life, and gotten on a new track, and just generally am feeling healthier now than I have in a long time.
That said, this journal is friendslocked from here on out. I've done a massive purge of people I don't remember/talk to/etc. If you feel you were removed unjustly, or want to be added/readded, please comment here~. Also if for some reason you just want to be removed, I will do so with no hard feelings.
For those who came here for fic, feel free to look through the archives. My fic from here on out will be posted instead at the journal
viridian_tales so that you don't have to feel like you're missing out on anything. If anyone actually cares anymore.

And sylviaviridian is once again open for business. Just not as open as it used to be.

I wouldn't have posted this, but I did that lj haiku meme, and the one it came up with...I just had to share.

I've never had Mormons come to the door before. When a pair of them came knocking today, I was caught flat-footed, and hadn't prepared any ways of messing with them. So I'm asking for help here: when Mormons come to the door, how do you suggest I screw with their heads? If they're too pushy, I'll try to convert them, but that's a little mean, and I don't want to do that if they're just friendly like these ones were.
Also, a livejournal truism: No one cares how off-topic your comment was, if it was in praise of their icon.

Dear lord, Star Wars fandom. Please, please can we take mercy on a poor, deprived fangirl? All I want is one, just one, decently long and well-written fic centered around Talon Karrde. Please?
Failing that, moar Thrawn plz. And I do appreciate the general quality level of the fics on him that I've found.

I was going through my old sent emails for no particular reason, and I ran across a 'I am a nice Christian' pledge that I'd sent to my mom once and asked her to spread the word.
Today, I've edited it for fandom.
Spread the word if you feel like it.

Oh my god, I was just at the Jonathan Coulton concert in Seattle, and it was awesome. There was dinner before the concert as well; we had satay of various kinds, and duck, and the best green tea I've ever had ever. And an incredible banana split for dessert, and molten chocolate cake to die for. And that was before the concert even started.
Then there was the opening band, Paul and Storm. Gods, I can't remember the last time I laughed that hard; seriously, look them up, they're amazing. And in their last number, a pirate song, they trained the audience to cry 'Arrrr!' on command and with different emotions (which we did quite well - they kept having us try new ones just to see what we'd do, happy and hopeful and disappointed and even 'like William Shatner'). The audience then continued to do this at appropriate moments all night. It was wonderful.
Then JoCo himself came on, and it just got better. I can't summarize all of it, but I don't want to forget, so I'm just going to jot down highlights that will mean things at least to me.
The lighting guy is *not allowed* to be funnier than the guys on stage. Seriously, dude, not cool. (Except that it totally was.)
The one little girl in the audience who got a twinkie every time a swear word cropped up in one of the songs.
During Creepy Doll, the baby that cried and managed to creep out JoCo.
The blackout with stars at the end of I Feel Fantastic.
JoCo messing up Brookline.
Audience participation in Mr. Fancypants.
Being encouraged to dress as zombies and pirates and have a brawl at our next JoCo concert. (Taser the ninjas.)
You haven't heard Re: Your Brains properly until you've been in the zombie chorus at a live concert.
Also, just for kicks, a conversation with my boyfriend after I got home:
Nathan: Can you plug in my DS for me?
Me: Where's your DS?
N: ...In my coat pocket, in the other room...
Me: ...And where's your charger?
N: ...Uh, I don't know.
Me: ...That would be a 'no', then.

But this time it's a good one. I haven't been on much if at all the last few days because I've been spending all my time playing a rented copy of KH2. Still a day or two on the rental, too.

I totally did not mean to spend all night playing video games.
I should have known better. I knew when I started that Katamari was addictive. Did I think myself somehow immune to its charms? Me, who is known to spend twelve hours at a time in front of one screen, hardly stopping to eat?
I want 'We ♥ Katamari' now...

Seriously, take a look at this if you use MSN Messenger, it's awesome and easy and free. (And only available in the US right now, but hopefully that'll change soon.)

What is lost can never be regained, and the worst part is that it's all my fault.
For what it's worth, I'm sorry for disappearing. I know any promises of my permanent return won't mean anything now, but...I'm done, finally, with getting my life sorted out and finding a new routine after such a dramatic change in lifestyle. I'm only sorry it took so long...but my boyfriend and I seem to have finally worked out our equilibrium, and I finally have time for the things I never stopped loving.
It's perfectly reasonable, and I never expected you to wait, but...it still hurts that I've now lost the best thing I ever found over the internet, through my own lazy stupidity. I know, I should have written, shouldn't have simply fled when the stress of balancing grew too much...nothing I can say could make up for that.
So, I'm back for good, everyone. Expect a new Renegades piece in a few days probably. Love you all, sorry I vanished for so long, I really did need the time to get balanced and back on my feet.

I'm sorry, everyone, for the unintentional hiatus. I have no excuse except laziness for not giving warning, but my time has been taken up lately with several things, most notably school (as the quarter is ending soon) and work (I work at an ice cream shop, and summer is coming. You do the math). Taking up my little free time in between these things and dealing with my and my boyfriend's apartment and living together and that sort of thing has been our new (to us) PS2.
For those who are interested, I don't have Tales of the Abyss, Kingdom Hearts, or KH2 yet. FFXII, however, is awesome and made of win (and also a fair amount of Star Wars, it seems like), and Okami is the best (not really) Zelda game ever made. Seriously, it takes everything Zelda ever did right and uses it blatantly, combined with fixing the things that Zelda fans don't want to admit the games get wrong. And the graphics and music are both like Windwaker only better.
I'll be back with you folks in a week or so once school's stopped being crazy. Love you all, and very sorry, once again, for my disappearance.
